| happy belated v-day to all.
i had a wonderful time spending valentine's day with michael yesterday (not meaning to rub it into a single's faces). we went to hong kong noodles in minneapolis and had a really really delicious dinner. oh how i love their sesame chicken! then we went back to his house and exchanged our gifts. he got me the gorgeous pair of steve madden sunglasses that i had asked for and i got him a new belt, a chipotle giftcard and a new brown ecko shirt. then after that, we did the valentine's day tango, teehehe. and then he had a last v-day surprise for me. michael told me to wait in his room while he went downstairs to get something ready. when he finally called me down, i was totally shocked to see a valentine's day cake that he had made on the dining room table. it was sooo awfully adorable! he knew exactly how i like my cakes, vanilla, with a ton of frosting and sprinkles all over.

isn't it cute?!?! i love you michael!
| got my first bad haircut ever on sunday. not cool, mans, not cool. had a coupon for $7.99 at great clips and figured i needed a trim (my last one was in july) and that since i've been goin there for years with no problems, i'd be satisfied. WRONG. the bitch, who was also the manager of the store, didn't know how to cut hair. couldn't cut layers worth crap, didn't bother with trimming the hair in the front of my face, and the hair on one side of my hair is longer than the other! i knew this wasn't going to go well when i saw the woman who was going to cut my hair had repulsive hair herself. i now have the intolerable urge to come to the salon and stick a pair of scissors right into her eyeball and get my $10 back (i stupidly gave a $2 tip). yeah yeah, i could just ask for them to redo my hair, but this seems more fun.
btw, if you have never cut hair, don't try cutting your own. i tried cutting my bangs yesterday..... yeah, that didn't work.
| let's get ready to RAMBLE!
so yesterday, michael and i went to the walker art center in minneapolis which was awesome. well, at least i thought so. michael isn't as much as the artsy-fartsy type like i am so the whole time we were there he was utterly confused and questionable about the artistic value of everything there. but i can't blame him for not understanding the concept of why a gold urinal or a tissue box on a small chair is considered ingeniously artistic. i, myself, was practically giddy the whole time. if i was there by myself, i probably would have been there for hours being just studying each piece. i am in no way an art snob though, i too was confused by some of the pieces, but nevertheless found them fascinating.
then after the walker art center, we went to mall of america wanting to undertake my favorite hobby, shopping. but sadly, i haven't had any money to spend on clothing for weeks, so we came there to do the second thing that i love to do most, window shopping! while there i also gave michael some suggestions for v-day gifts: a hello kitty ipod mini case from urban outfitters and steve madden sunglasses. michael gave me some suggestions of his own: ecko shirts and more ecko shirts. he's not a wigger, mind you, but ecko is has the only shirts that can fit his tall, lean, sexy body.
after the long day at the mall, michael and i went to his house and watch "signs." i have seen "signs" about three or four times and last night was the first time i figured out what the friggin twist was in the film. everything is about SIGNS. there are no coincidences in life. and i didn't figure this out on my own either... michael told me while we were watching the credits. the last words of the mom was a sign, the lil girl's obsession with water, the uncle's baseball skills, the boy's asthma, the picture in the book, the fuckin name of the movie! hell, they even had a major conversation about signs vs. coincidences. but see, i figured out why i didn't figure out the theme of this movie from that conversation until now. i blocked it out. the movie was about faith in a higher being and me, being an athiest with a marxist perspective towards religion and no belief in fate, just instictively blocked out anything referring this. now i know why i never liked the movie.
anyways, today is super bowl sunday! michael and i are in no way football fans but we are going to get some davanni's pizza and pig out in his room for the game. why? the commercials of course!
| yesterday, i got myself one of these babies

its for my ipod mini. i have been needing an alarm clock since my last one broke last august and since i no longer listen to cds anymore and i lost my headphones for my ipod (i've been mostly been using it on the computer and in my car through a transmitter) i decided to buy the ihome clock radio from target yesterday for $84.95 on sale. it is pretty freakin sweet. i can now wake up to "for the longest time" by billy joel.
also yesterday, michael and i went to mall of america. after a few hours of shopping (mostly for him), we decided to go home because it was getting late and the mall was going to close in an hour or so. walking back to my car, i ruffled through my purse only to find that i left my keys in the car. imagine how funny it was to ask my mom and dad to come drop off my keys at 8:30pm at the mall which was 25 minutes away from the house (45 minutes for them considering how slow they drive). luckily, they weren't pissed and were okay about it. in return, all i had to do was wash the dishes.
anyways, while waiting for my parents, michael and i were fooling around in the mall. here are some pictures.

| classes started today. boo! here's my schedule:
mon: intro to physicial anthropology (9:00A-9:50A), life sci (10:00A-11:15A) calc III (12:00P-12:50P) tues: calc III (12:00P-12:50P) wed: intro to physicial anthropology (9:00A-9:50A), calc III (12:00P-12:50P) thurs: life sci lab (8:00A-10:50A) calc III (12:00P-12:50P) fri: intro to physicial anthropology (9:00A-9:50A), calc III (12:00P-12:50P) sat: intro to sociology (1:00P-4:00P every other weekend)
yes, i have a saterday class, but it is only three hours ever other weekend. i am thinking that if sociology goes well, than that is the field that i would want to major in. i was thinking of majoring in mathmatics before, but i realized that i am never going to be good at math. in fact, i hate math. the only reason i am taking calc III is to please my mom. i am the asian anti-stereotype. i am really good at liberal art subjects such as english, behavorial sciences, and such (i recieved A's for intro to lit, interpersonal communications, and eastern religions yet a C for calc II last semester). all in all, i want to acheive a career in education and i don't think i am going to be needing calc III to teach 3rd graders (if choose to become an elemantary school teacher) or to ESL kids (if i choose to become an ESL teacher). the only barrier in my way, my typical asian mother that wants me to obtain a reputable, high-paying career in the health/engineering/math fields. i figure, i am going to tell my dad about my future goals first (considering that he, himself, is an ESL teacher) and somehow it will trinkle down to my mom and she will be more accepting. ahh, i dunno!
